The 14 Fake Olive Oil Companies Are Revealed Now – Avoid These Brands

70% of olive oil companies in the USA are fake, cut with bad and cheap oils such as canola and sunflower. This item was considered to be healthy, but now it’s corrupted. It was proved that 7 of the gigants for olive oil production in USA, mix their items with bad and cheap oils in order to make more profits.

This is similar to the 2008 Italian practice where 400 police officers were involved in the operation Golden Oil breakdown. This meant closure of 85 oil farms which mixed chlorophyll with canola and sunflower to the olive oil. The oil was colored, flavored, and perfumed too, which provoke the Australian government to investigate their own oils. The results were terrible.

After that, there was not a brand of extra virgin olive that got certificate of approval for the 2012.

In a study which was conducted in California University, it was proven that from 124 imported oils, more than 70% of samples failed the test.

These failed:

  • Mezzetta
  • Carapelli
  • Pompeian
  • Primadonna
  • Mazola
  • Sasso
  • Colavita
  • Star
  • Antica Badia
  • Whole Foods
  • Safeway
  • Felippo Berio
  • Coricelli
  • Bertolli

These brands passed:

  • Corto olive
  • Lucero
  • McEvoy Ranch Organic
  • Omaggio
  • California Olive Branch
  • Bariani Olive oil
  • Lucini
  • Ottavio
  • Olea Estates
  • Cobram Estate
  • Kirkland Organic

You can test the olive oil at your home. Put the bottle in the fridge for half an hour and if it becomes solid, it’s pure and contains monounsaturated fats. But, if it remains in liquid form, then it’s fake. In this case, search for label approvals such as California Olive Oil Council Certified Extra Virgin or Australian Extra Virgin Certified.
