Processed And Red Meat May Cause Cancer



         Processed meat is modified meat that by process of smoking, adding of salt or preservatives its shelf life or taste is being extended. These modifications are the cause for increasing the risk of cancer, reports “BBC”. Processed meats, such as bacon, sausages and ham can really lead to cancer, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

       We can blame red meat for development of serious and severe diseases. Red meat in which beef, lamb and pork is mixed is classified as a carcinogen because it contains glyphosate. This is the same active ingredient present in means for destroying weeds. However, red meat has nutritional value too. It is the main source of iron, zinc and vitamin B12. The risk of developing colon cancer, in case you consume small quantities of such meat, are small, but those who eat large quantities of that meat, this factor is inevitable, explain experts from “WHO”.

       These findings do not mean that you should stop eating red or processed meat, but we should consider reducing consuming such meat’s quantities, if you eat it too much.
