Salt is without a doubt the most often-used seasoning for our food. Aside from being used as a simple seasoning, salt has also been used for numerous other purposes and practical uses that contribute to our overall health. For example, if you add salt in your favourite cosmetic products, you can improve your skin and hair quality when you use those cosmetics.
If you have an oily hair – simply turn to salt for help! Simply add 2-2 tablespoons of salt in your favourite shampoo, and your hair won’t get so greasy fast. Although the effects won’t be noticeable after the first use, you will notice improvements after a couple of treatments.
Not many people know that salt makes an excellent body scrub. For this one you’re going to need coarse sea salt. Mix 2 tablespoons of coarse sea salt in 1 cup of coconut oil and use this mixture to scrub your body once it’s solidified.
Salt is a natural foot exfoliator which will soften and smooth out your feet if you rub a mixture of olive oil and salt on them.
Salt as a natural remedy
We all know how unpleasant paper cuts can be, but now we can use salt for the rescue. You’ll need to dissolve 2 teaspoons of salt in a glass of water and apply some of the mixture to the cut in order to disinfect it. It WILL feel unpleasant but that is a sign that the mixture is working efficiently.
If you’re suffering from frequent headaches, drink a mixture of water and salt and the headache will be gone in only 10-15 minutes.
It is highly important that you limit your salt intake if you’re suffering from high blood pressure. As we already know, salt raises the blood pressure even more and thus raises the risk of life-threatening conditions that can sometimes be fatal.
